ULTRA-PLUS Training Collar with Center Plate, Assembly Chain, and Swivel Ring - Stainless Steel Black

- Bought for an unruly pit-mix rescue dog who, although an amazing dog at home, he can be quite reactive while on walks towards other dogs or people he isn’t familiar with. Since our Herm Sprenger arrived, the difference has been night & day! - with small corrections whilst walking (currently day 2 of using it), he now has no problem staying by our sides and is far easier to control.

We introduced the collar to him before taking him out on it, gave him treats & praise to reinforce it being a positive for him & we have had no issues.

The collar itself took a little bit of trial and error to fit properly and make sure he was comfortable but, it is well made, the click lock & safety strap were simple to install (I highly recommend watching a training video for correct use) - overall, extremely happy with our investment!!

Our German shepherd was really pulling and wanting to chase cars on our walks. After just one use of the prong collar there is an amazing difference. I no longer feel like I’m going to lose an arm on our walks and we are both enjoying them again!

I was avoiding this collar and this was my last option, e collar for me was out of the question. I tried a HS choke chain just before this one and at the beginning was getting better results that the martingale. Anyhow so far this has been the best one so far, my wife was still reluctant so I end up buying it myself and once I saw the results, show her how our dog was behaving totally different. She was starting to get very reactive towards other dogs, last night I walking we came across two reactive dogs and my Doberman just chose to ignored them. I’m working with a trainer that is couching me and I have seen allot of videos on how to use this collar properly. I think you have be cautious on how to introduce it and how work with your dog. Be patient and take little steps at first.

The collar worked fine until I had to remove a prong (my pup was groomed and needed to tighten it a bit). While on a walk, I gave it a pull and the collar came apart!!! It was working great until then - we were in a busy road and luckily he didn’t bolt.

Wondering how this could happen (I’ve read other reviews about this).
