Not a training collar

I purchased this collar because I was excited for the ease of use, however, without the chain, this collar does not act as a training collar for my Samoyed. Additionally, reviews indicate this collar does discolor fur in moist climate. I am returning to purchase the Ultra stainless steel traditional prong and hope that by putting it in the dishwasher regularly I can keep tarnish from discoloring my dog's fur.

We do recommend choosing a prong collar with an assembly chain when it comes to most training situations and agree that switching to one will offer you a more true training experience with your dog :) In terms of fur staining, please note that this is not the metal rubbing off on the dog, but actually an allergic reaction that causes the fur to discolor in response. While Curogan is our most hypo-allergenic metal option, we cannot 100% guarantee this will prevent fur staining in all dogs, as some are especially sensitive.
